New Parliamentary press gallery chair

Primedia Broadcasting's group parliamentary correspondent, Gaye Davis, has recently been elected chairperson of the Parliamentary Press Gallery Association (PGA). The association comprises those media representatives that report full-time on the proceedings of South Africa's Parliament.

Each year, the PGA elects an executive committee to represent its interests and express the collective views of its members.

“This is a great achievement. We are delighted that Gaye has been elected to this very important position. Often, there are issues that affect journalists in Parliament and we just know that they will be tackled with the greatest commitment, under Gaye's leadership,” said Yusuf Abramjee, Primedia Broadcasting group head of news and talk programming.

Davis has been with Primedia Broadcasting for 11 years. She was appointed group parliamentary correspondent in 2006.

The Parliamentary Press Gallery Association has been in existence since 1910 and represents about 80 accredited journalists from across all media.
