Below-the-line Creative Director at full service agency Joe Public, Xolisa Dyeshana has been selected to judge at the prestigious 2007 John Caples International Awards being held in New York later this year.
Xolisa, a former Loeries judge who moved to Johannesburg from Cape Town a year ago to head up the BTL division at Joe Public, will be jetting to New York where he will form part of a team of creative professionals from around the world to judge some of the most innovative direct and experiential work the industry has to offer. Xolisa is only the second South African in the history of the awards to be invited to judge.
The John Caples International Awards, now in its 28th year, awards individual members of direct and interactive marketing creative teams judged to have the most innovative solutions to real-time marketing challenges.
The annual competition receives in excess of 1 000 entries from all over the world. There are three rounds of judging where the judges evaluate the campaign entries by reading about the problem that had to be resolved and then touching and feeling the actual work - rather than viewing digital synopses.
“I'm honoured to have been chosen to be part of the Caples Awards this year, being able to represent South Africa and learn from other creatives from around the world is extremely humbling. I'm very excited about the insights I'll be to able to share and bring back with me,” says Xolisa.
