Ministers to review global marketing of South Africa
The ministers responsible for the international marketing of destination South Africa, Essop Pahad and Marthinus van Schalkwyk, recently announced their agreement to look at a comprehensive and effective way to market South Africa domestically and abroad.
The exercise will be undertaken in an effort to explore synchronicity between marketing efforts and find ways to align destination and national marketing strategies and campaigns
This will involve the review of all national level structures, in particular, South African Tourism and the International Marketing Council (IMC). As such, the board chairpersons of both organisations, Wendy Luhabe (IMC) and Jabu Mabuza (SA Tourism) have been requested to conduct this review over the next six months.
After the review, the chairpersons will be required to make their recommendations to both ministers.
