MultiChoice unveils urban music channel

On Friday, 23 November 2007, MultiChoice will unveil the international urban music television channel, Trace on DStv. The launch on channel 325 comes after a successful one-month trial period in April this year.

Says MultiChoice GM: content Aletta Alberts, “We are delighted to have Trace joining the DStv family. The addition of Trace will strengthen our music offering and will provide another platform for local musicians to showcase their talents internationally.”

Trace is a leading lifestyle and feature channel which will offer a variety of music genres ranging from hip hop, reggae, RnB, soul and groove salsa as well as local music. Trace is exclusively dedicated to urban music and culture among young people. The content encompasses the latest worldwide trends in urban music and lifestyle.

In its first month of launch, Trace will pay tribute to legends such as Mary J Blige, Stevie Wonder, Alpha Blonde and Michael Jackson.

“The theme and feeling of the channel which offers a unique mix of cool, urban lifestyle and cultural influences is in keeping with the DStv brand promise of so much more… We are very excited to be joining this market,” says Olivier Laouchez, chairman and CEO of Trace.
