Freelancentral, the online directory of freelancers in South Africa's marketing, creative and IT industries, has been selected as one of 16 emerging companies to participate in the Cape IT Initiative's (CITI's) VeloCITI programme, sponsored by the Provincial Government of the Western Cape.

The programme brief was aimed at motivated entrepreneurs with the drive to build their company from an idea into a sustainable and profitable business model; with the intent to create successful IT businesses that will generate job opportunities and improve skills in the region.

The VeloCITI project will see 16 young ICT companies working together with some of Cape Town's best business mentors and coaches in a business acceleration programme lasting 9 months. As one of the selected companies, Freelancentral will receive ongoing business support, including premises in the business accelerator, Bandwidth Barn in Cape Town's CBD.

Work by Freelancentral members will be on show at Stand A8 at the Design Indaba Expo, which will be held at the Cape Town ICC from 23-25 February.
